During my genetics lecture 2day, the topic covered was " the Physical Basis of Heredity: Chromosomes & Genes" whereby concepts of phenotype & alleles dominance & recessive were taught. Nothing was that new to me cos I took Genetics b4 back @ TPoly, so it was more like a recap for me. The lecture was so dry, full of all that usual mundane explanations of definitions by prof Gan that I nearly dozed off! Gosh..the best part was that I was sitting right in the front row, under lecturer's nose. Thank god! she didn't really scolded me..though she hinted to me by saying to the class tat she shall start to tell story to enliven the class if not..everyone's dozing off soon. Lucky me!

So definitely by then, I woke up liao & paid attention during the rest of the lecture..She gave the ABO blood group of humans as an eg of the concept of codomainance & multiple alleles as she went on explaining the cheem concept to us. Then she digressed abit by asking the class about our blood Gp type 2 add spice to the otherwise very dry topic. So that was when I found out that my dearest welfare-co, April & I are the only AB blood gp individual in our bio (deg) gp when djah & doreen are the only 2 B blood gp individuals..while the rest are all Os..Hmm..Interesting!

Anyway..got quite a no of tutorial & reading 2 do..so I shall end here with an insight on the personality of blood grp AB individual..courtesty of my dearest cousin, szeli..
Erm..whether it really depicts my personality or not.haha..only time will tell as u get to noe me better. Oh yah, a pt to note..that saying of AB blood gp pple..very selfish cos they can take all blood types but can't give them.. This's a really skewed pt of view cos haha..I admit tat I can b selfish @ times but definitely not that bad as to take from others only & not give..

Another pt is tat there is a fact to the blood gp type AB, uncommon to the layman, which totally refuted this biased comment of us..AB-cians unless u worke d@ the blood bank...& that is we are the universal plasma donor to all blood types while O bld gp is the universal red blood cells(RBC) donor. So we, the AB bld gp individuals are vital to saving the lives of all those burnt victims cos that's precisely the substance (plasma ) that Dr transfused to these patients to save the lives. U see, our blood is made up of many components such as RBCS, white blood cells (WBC), plasma & platelets, albumin etc.

So here u go..the contributions by all fellow AB blood donors out there.. Ain't tat very selfish after all as..pple always label us to be.
