20.09.2009.. My Cedarian Gathering...

On this once-in-a-lifetime special day of such nice numeral double,
I had an enjoyable time with my fellow newfound Cedarians frenzs through an old friend or neighbour, Hani as well as my usual Cedarian Kaki. I was glad that I went as it was like a great time remembering those good old days at our alma mater.

In the beginning, when Hani invited me to her house for Hari Raya and then informed me that I could meet up with fellow Cedarians from our same batch too- her NCC kaki from Cedar, I did have some reservations about "gatecrashing" their annual gatherings. After all, I was never part of the NCC community back then, neither am I now. Nonetheless, bcos we come from the same 80s batch and of cos the invisible Cedar bondage amongst us, I decided to go after all the inital hesitations. Coming to think about it, oh well, what harm could there be for me or them? Just a bunch of ladies chilling out together n makaning at a Muslim frenz's house, a stone's throw away from my hse.

Once a Cedarian, Always a Cedarian, I reckon..
I can tell the pride and identity in all of us..the old time frenzs n newfound frenzs of the same batch from yesterday's gathering. I didnt take too long to break the ice and get to noe the other ladies in Hani's NCC kaki.. In fact, there is one who used to be in the same class as me in Lower Sec, L and she still looked quite the same as those yesteryears. So do I other than my new braces. Honestly, as i looked back, I do find most of the NCC ladies familiar though I do not actually know them. I must say that, during that short hour of makaning n chatting, there was this undescribable feeling of homecoming and warmth . All in all, a fun-filled gathering and I bet I have no regret going.. In fact, it also gives me comfort to know that there are many other bachelorettes other than like me in my batch! Haha.. in fact, one of them even commented that it may be the curse of my batch! Too many females, too few males?? hahaha.. oh well, Believing is seeing.. Nah, i dun believe it as I also have many married friends from my very own batch too.

This special day ended on a good note too as I met up with my usual Cedar kaki for dinner @ Vivocity. It was just a simple Asian Kitchen meal for dinner and then we headed up to the rooftop area of vivo for a lady chat. We decided against going for a movie or the overpriced Song of the Seas show @ Sentosa after some discussion. This turned out to be a wise choice as the ladies chat was so fun and comforting as we shared about our woes and concerns about our jobs, futures and of cos, the constant concern.. the Big 3 O approaching real fast... HOw should we face it? Embrace it w joy n acceptance or loathe it? I choose to embrace it as it is after all a matter of fact.. Reality.. I cant change it then I just got to learn to accept it and appreciate it. The sophistication and maturity we are associated with the Big 3 O.. It may not turn out to be that scary as it is just a numeral man!
