Farewell to our dearest People's President..Dr Wee Kim Wee..as he passed away tis morning @ 515am..
The Nation mourns as Singapore losed a great leader of humility and honour. All flags
Singapore will miss u and always remember u..Our beloved 4th President..An exceptional man...
I will miss him greatly though I have never met him in person b4. Goodbye..to him.but not to his legacy..it will live on in the hearts of many.

Till now, I can remember vividly the picture of him with his warm, megawatt smile that greeted me during all my assemblies at during my pri sch days. ( u c, he was the president then and so his picture as well as his wife, the 1st lady were hung up at all schools). From his photograph, he indeed looked so approachable and ever-ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Hehe..recalling now, hmm..he seems like a doting grandpa to my friends and I too..

Judging from all the news reports about his magnanimity and amicable, down-to-earth personality,
tis will certainly be "a great loss to the Nation", as said by President Nathan.
So perhaps I should go down 2 Istana tmr 2 pay my last respect to such a modest leader with no airs around him, well-loved by all S'poreans from all wakes of life. Hmm..not perhaps..I've decided.. I shall go tmr.. esp when I really wanna meet such a great man even though haiz..not when he's no longer around physically..Yet..i believe that he will always b with Spore spirtually..blessing our homeland..

He will be a role model for all to emulate..esp when he had climbed his way up from a clerk to editor, diplomat and finally president.. Mind u..he had not managed to further his studies due to circumstances then..instead he learnt from the University of life..and worked his way up..Definitely, something admirable..that he can succeed under such harsh turbulent times of yester-year. I salute u, Mr Former President.. U r our inspiration! U had touched our lives..

Now I shall conclude tis blog with his mantra..a great life's reminder..
" We come into this world with nothing on our backs and we will leave with nothing..
Before we leave, we return to society what it has given us. We try to treat every person as a human being."

- Former President

This sunny morning was a bonding time with dearest dad & mum. I woke up super early 2 accompany them 4 their 3km walk organised by the Paya Lebar Brisk Walking Club.Actually, I was quite reluctant initially when dad broke the news to me tat he've had signed up for me as well during dinner on Fri. I immediately lamented and was kinda of rude then..Sorry, dad..esp when I went on & on., complaining about how he shouldn't have done so without asking me...wat if i have arranged 2 go out w frenzs, or have other appt? After all, he simply meant well & indeed, it's been a long while since i last went out with them for such morning exercise.

Thinking of it now, it wasn't such a bad idea after all! A brisk walk around the kovan vicinity in the healthy morning sun..Haha..though I didn't 4get my sunscreen..Me vainpot wat..Nah..more of taking gd care of ur skin complexion esp when i'm in my 20s liao leh.. Been a nostagic walk, down the memory lane too..cos i passed by the park next to my primary school.. Surin Neighbourhood Park..Charlton lane.. Hmm.. Been ages since I last pass by this part of Hougang/Upper Serangoon.. My sch, Charlton..is not longer around... been closed down due 2 poor enrolment some years back, now the compound's used by an international school.

the park didn't change much..looked quite the same as the time when i was still a young shy kid who often walked through the park to get the bus interchange after sch.. I still remember how I wish to play @ the playground then but i dared not cos I was shy and afraid of going home late..Then kena scolding by mum 4 playing outside and not going home in time. Or is it cos i was a prefect then..so best not to go play there esp when teachers did advise us not 2 play at the park .. Haha..me the little obedient gal..so simply following such dumb advice or instructn blindly..
I'm sure that the kids nowadays will certainly do otherwise.

Though the park remained just like 15 years ago..the surrounding have changed much..the swimming pool directly opp the school is also closed down d/t low usage by the public..just like the school. Haiz...it may be the pool with the least pple but nonetheless the cleaniest one of all the public pools i've been to.. unlike hougang or the worst of all, tampines..I certainly miss the pool esp when it was where I had my swimming lessons and training when I was in the school swimmin team back then.

How time flies.. Changes are therefore inevitable esp in this new century.. Even our homeland will soon have 2 casinos in couple of years' time unlike back then when our PAP leaders were dead against it..
Indeed, in accordance to Darwin's Evolution theory....The survival of the fittest..only way 2 change & move along with time..However, no matter how much changes there can be, nothing can change the fact that.. Family kinship is important & tis is the basic unit of all society .. nothing is more impt than ur loved ones.. Without them, there won't be us 2day.. So learn 2 cherish them now and not take them 4 granted.. Tis's also sth i'am working towards ..
