20.07.2007.. the day I braved thru rain @ BTNR

The clock is ticking away every second of this special day..
Special in the sense that it is the only day.. in fact once in a life time to have such a double match in a date...as years come and go...
I consider this is maybe why I have had received a few sms greetings on this special day of a lifetime.. This is the special factor for most people on this planet Earth..I suppose..

As for me, how special this day had been for me was that I had accomplished something I never expected myself to do.. A commendable achievement, at least to me..
So exactly what had i achieved, you may be wondering... Nothing earth-breaking nor spectacular.. More of I having overcome yet another seemingly impossible task for girls, at least to my kaki.. I survived through a heavy rain "storm", Cat 2 perhaps ( In the SAF weather categorising) while I was in the midst of my forest survey, laying out transect belts.

*** I am a survivor!!!*** In fact, heyhey.. I had survived through a sudden Ticks attack too..hehe.. no joke.. Certainly never a gd experience to have...

To cut the crap, I succeeded in navigating my way out of the damp, darkening forest of our famous Bukit Timah Nature Reserve in the rain.. Opps.. Keep mum about this to my parents though, cos to them, this would definitely be a NO-no... Imagine the recent cases of falling trees and branches, crashing trekkers/nature lovers @ forests to death..

Yes, this may sound totally insane to u, reader but to me, this is no doubt an accomplishment i am proud of ..For I had kept my cool..at least I tried my best, of cos with the help of my capable, combat trained FYP asst..

[ Oh yah, some background info, I am currently doing my Final Year Project, under the guidance of my prof, Dr Lum on a forest survey/ ecology project.. Thus, this means that forest bashing, away from the usual walkin trails/path will be part and parcel of this challenging yet intriguing project for me.. I must admit I am a nature lover and though my fate of project and its progress depends alot on Mother Nature and the uncontrollable Weather.. So far, this project has been a great learning journey, with me getting pro and better in my navigation skills using a compass and finding my way in , out and around the many similiar-looking trees after trees to get to my study site, near dairy farm pass.]

Way to go , ger... Ganbatte ne.. Jungle Gal & Her 2nd Home... BTNR... ...
