Finally I did it.. PUt on my dental braces for practical reasons

Oh yes, after years of procrastination since my NIE days and the fear of pain...
I finally made the big leap and decided to go for it .. Correcting my row of teeth through dental braces! Indeed, pain and soft food will be what I will constantly be associated with for the next 2-3 years at least. Nonetheless, I believe it will all pay off in the end with a beautiful set of pearlie white and my perfect smile to charm even further more guys out there? wahaha. pls dun puke at this point of time.. I must have some faith in myself at least right. I aint tat plain Jane nor a glam queen, but certainly an above average looking girl with her confusing nationality look: Indonesian? ABC? ( I wish..hehe)? Arab... Malay...look. It's all thanks to my Baba roots over at my paternal side i suppose.

All in all, wish me luck and success in this mammoth project.. $$$ expensive siah..
No venture, no pain = no gain? So I must endure and look forward to the day i put on retainers:)

As for me, only time can tell. I am still enjoying my bachelorette days for now.. When the big 30 comes along, perhaps i shall be more proactive and responsive to date choices bah..
Oh well, as for now, I have 30 little princesses to educate and entertain... Quite a handful already for me..to love, nurture and mind-train!

Colour of Happiness? Is that any at the first place?

I was telling a friend just a few hours ago that I am into this series of kimmi dolls figures.
Been searching for this particular doll character which represents Happiness.
I don't seem to be able to find this doll named Kioko everywhere I goes!
I guess it's not meant to be or the timing is just not right perhaps since I am indeed yet to find my real happiness in my life in terms of the Special Half. Thus, after a few futile searches,
I gave up and decided that if this doll is meant to be mine, someday, somehow I will see her again. So much about this character, Kioko! Apparently, the character short notes attached: proclaims that : " Her spirit brings fulfillment and pleasure!"

Oh well, I believe that I have this thing about Japanese dolls since I was at a tender age.
NOt so much into the virtues or spiritual aspect of what each doll represent.
Now that I am earning my own $, I suppose I can work towards collecting 1-2 dolls each year till the day I amass a group of say 10 perhaps to be displayed at my very own apartment 5-10 years down the time? I shall keep my fingers crossed!

Anyway, back to the question on colour of happiness this frenz just posed to me

"Oh, so what is the colour of happiness?" he asked innocently?

" Hmm," I replied sheepishly. " I can't rem the exact colour of this happiness doll but it really
depends on one's preferences perhaps?"

" Haha, into yet another philosophical question? Oh well..." he said.

This was how the conversation ended but this sets me thinking..
Interesting .. Colour of Happiness..
Based on the Kioko colour, they seem to be black and red..
Is this because red is usually an auspicious colour for many?
Anyway, IMO, I feel that the colour of happiness is transient and mood-dependent.
Someday, wearing a blue top just simply makes your day without any particular reason..It's just an undescribable feeling or gut feeling you had that morning. Or perhaps wearing a colour that complements well with your skin colour and thus bringing out the best in you can also be considered as your colour of happiness. YOu know, those typical spring, summer, autumn n winter colour styles..warm/cool colours... the list goes on.

All in all, i guess all I have to say is that to sum up, colour of happiness whatever it is depends on the person concerned and of cos the moods felt then. Like the typical saying about life being not just 2 distinct black or/and white but with the many shades of grey too. This applies to the colour of happiness too.

My Lovely First Week of June

In a couple of minutes' time, it will be the second week
of my precious June holiday. How time flies.
In the blink of an eye, I have attended quite a few events and
did what I have planned to do.

Looking back now, in terms of my sch duties,
I have done my part well in accompanying a gp of p4 HA pupils to ACS for a Lang Art Festival.
It had been an enriching event where I get to meet pupils n teachers from various sch.
Of cos, not forgetting that I got to explore around the mega school compound.
I also got to attend a few engaging and useful workshop and talks on storytelling and poetry slam!

The next highlight of the event will be the Math Conference on Mathematics Modelling @ NIE.
I learnt a great deal, got to buy that teacher stamp set I have been looking for as well as a reunion with my fyp tutor and friendly pals from CTFS.

Lastly, I finally accomplished a task that has long been planned but I hesitated when will be the right time to get it done and over regardless of the outcome. At last, the load is off my mind as I did what I have been promising myself to get this over by the end of June! I am proud of my self
for facing up to reality and indeed applying what my guru has been teaching me over the year.
Emotion management. All I can do now is to do what i need to do, accept whatever outcome there may be as the outcome is beyond my control. Freedom of choice is the right of all.

Last but not least, I enjoyed the company and the time spent in the entire week with my colleagues and dearest friends. I am beginning to enjoy the beauty of life..no doubt my list of work for next term and duties is never-ending, I have learnt to take things in my stride.
Live and let live. Cherish the moment and live in the present as the future with you and me is to be written by us! Love is the universal motivation of life.. To love or be loved?
I chose the latter for I believe that when we love others, we will be loved someday somehow.

I will do my best towards loving life n my job a little more day by day.. Life can still be beautiful even when I may never ever be the one I long to be with or is there ever meant to be one? Only time will tell and I shall wait patiently.

Meanwhile, I shall treasure everyone around me. Love may be important but if we sacrifice our personal space, growth and talent for love, we will absolutely find no happiness approaching..

Lastly, I shall sum up my entry with the beautiful quote on Loveby Antoine de Saint-Exupery:

I believe that this applies to my job too when both teacher and pupils are to work hand in hand towards a meaningful acquisition of values and knowledge of life with love , faith and hope.

5th June.. a fun-filled day of bonding n self-relevation

5th June 2009.. a day I will be proud of as I look back into many years down the road.
I have at last fulfilled my last wish and my agreement with the little kids.
Truth be spoke and all are well.

I have come a long way till today when I have learnt to appreciate and live in the very moment
for it is the present. Past has long been gone and can never be re-written to your liking.
Future is yet to be here so we shall behold, plan yet be adaptable to twitch plan according to the ever-changing situation. This is life and I have learnt to accept and embrace it

By fighting with life, resisting uncontrollable things like love and faith in others..
Ask and it's given..
Life is a reflection at times.. By resisting life and seeing the worst in everything,
indeed through such shades of lens about life, life will never be easier with such resistance.

Instead, to let go, let free..go with the flow..the river of life..
Let the water current bring u along to the utopia of joy and fun..
Life can someday indeed become a easier game for you and me..

Belief is a powerful tool.
I believe that after years of low phases and self-searching, finally the breakthrough has come
as I regain my confidence bit by bit since the day it shattered when I lost myself n my heart was too aching to guide and enjoy what life can offer.

All in all,
Life is indeed like a bed of roses.. how you wanna sleep on bed, when , what , where
it's entirely up to you! A pat on my shoulder.. A well-deserved one as I have come a long long day to where I have improved into.
