My 1st half-marathon:Std Charter Run 06
Yeah! I did it!
I survived the 21.1km.. though my timing of 3hr3mins26mins wasnt actually that fantastic or even close to the average timing for this year's half-marathon of 2hr38mins.. Just knew about this and my standing amongst the runners through the official website.. Yap.. somewhat disappointing.. but not discouraged... I shall try again... Running can be rather addictive man!
I shall train earlier and aim for 2hr 30mins next year.. Honestly, with my old ankle injury, slight anaemia conditn.. plus my lack of training.. just at most, a week of intense running after my exams .. It is quite an achievement to have completed the entire distance.. At least I didn't cheat as I saw a few runners cutting short the full dist. I think I ran close to 13 km and walked the final 6-8 km ah...Oh yah.. slowing down too to take some photos of the nice views using hp camera & to reply to a couple of sms during the final lap.. Wahahaha.. No wonder.. i so slow right..
Somewhat a leisure run for me too after my nice pacer, Mr. Z ( the chap in above pix) proceed on to "chase" that pretty chick with hair tied up in a red band.. Oh pls dun be mistaken, Mr. Z aint that ungentlemanly ah, was motivating and pushing me on since the 8th km when I started to slow down much .. but due to my ill discipline and exhaustion, I managed to convince him to go ahead and run for his best timing while i shall meet him at the finishing point.. Better clarify this for him, if not..hehe..if not the swinging bachelor on the lookout may end up missing a few good catch amongst the younger female readers of my blog...not much though i suppose.. but just in case ah.. haha...
So any fellow frenzs in her early 20s, interested to get to know Mr. Z better? do let me know okie ;> shall send u his blog site at least..or even hp if he allows.. hehe...
Anyway, a big thanks to Mr. Z for being my pacer and company during the first 15 km.. He's good, man.. clocking a time of abt 2hr 30mins without any prior training cos he was a lastmin replacement for my cousin. I suppose his regular running really helps then..
Nonetheless, I endured through and completed the race at least..A pat on my back... :) gd effort!
